The Nile River Bridge is an extra dosed type of bridge. This Bridge is one of the leading bridges in Ethiopia in terms of type, beauty and Modernity. The Bridge has two supporting towers and three spans between the towers. The length of the bridge is 380 meters. Its side width is 43 meters and it can accommodate 6 vehicles at the same time on both left and right sides. In addition, it includes a two way bicycle lane and a 5 meter pedestrian walkway.

The construction of Abay River Bridge will cost an estimated ETB 1,437,000,000 or 51.34 million US dollars. The project is fully financed by the government of Ethiopia.
